Swimming

Ashton & I go out to the pool almost every night and he's gotten really comfortable in the water. Here's a little video just b/c he's cute.

And speaking of swimming... David & I missed David's mom's side family reunion this past week. But we did get to see an awesome video of his dad that was posted on youtube. Be prepared to laugh hard. He's the last one to walk in with the red cap. enjoy.

2 Months already

Hannah had her 2 month check up today. She is 90% for height and 50% for weight. We just hope she's not taller than Ashton. Here are some new pics.

Buzz cuts, bruises & beds

Ashton finally got a much needed haircut kind of inadvertently. It's not a great one but it'll do. I was cutting David's hair during nap time and the bug woke up too early. I cut a little with scissors just trying to trim it but it was a lost cause. So we used the No. 8 on the buzzer and it still looks uneven. Oh well at, least it'll grow back. I think it's kind of monumental that he had his first "buzz cut".

Some of you may remember the crib biting saga. If not you can read about it here. But basically Ashton destroyed his crib during his teething stage. I was thrilled to hear that our crib got recalled! So we took it apart and took it back to Wal-Mart. While we were there we put the monkey leash backpack thing on him to see if he liked it and if we wanted to bring it to the airport. Well, while I was letting him lead me around like a dog he tripped and conked his head on the cement ground. I've never ever seen a goose egg swell up so fast.

It's not too colorful yet so we'll keep you updated. Needless to say, Ashton got anything he wanted today because we felt so bad for him. Here's a side view.

And since David & I are cheap we decided not to buy a new crib (just yet) with the gift card they gave us. So we're letting Ashton sleep on his matress on the floor. Suprisingly, he fell asleep just fine tonight. Naps will be the true test.
That's our exciting news this week. Oh, David & I also celebrated our 3 year anniversary on Tuesday. We stayed home and watched a movie since our no. 1 babysitter is out of town (David's mom) and still had the best anniversary ever. And not to leave out little Hannah we'll give you a quick update. She's full of smiles (still have yet to catch one on camera) and she is still a great sleeper. Isn't it sad that I'm dissapointed if my 2 month old doesn't give me a full 8 hours at night? I'm sure this will never happen again with another baby so I'll enjoy it while it lasts! I'll post some pictures of her soon.

Happy 4th of July

Here's what Ashton thinks of us trying to actually pose he & Hannah together.

Even goldfish didn't help.

Fine I'll kiss her & pinch her - poor Hannah.

Atleast she was willing to cooperate.

Siblings

Ashton still loves Hannah. Most of the time he is very soft with her and he still loves to hold her and point out her eyes, nose & toes. He was holding her hand while he layed with her on the playmat; it was adorable.
He loves to show her how to use her swing. But once in awhile he gets away from us and Hannah gets hurt. A few weeks ago she had a bruise under her eye from when he threw one of his crayons at her. Sadly, I didn't get a picture of her first shiner. But I'll never forget the pediatrician saying "Oh my gosh is that a bruise?" This past week he swatted her at church and she got a nice scratch on her forehead. I've learned now to document all this so she can get revenge later on in life.
But all in all he is a great big brother. We can't wait till she's old enough to play with him.
Hannah's 7 weeks old today. She's a great eater. We've finally figured out that when she's fussy during the day she just wants to be in her bed with her binky. We'll be holding her and rocking her and she'll fuss but the minute we lay her down in the bassinet she mellows right away. Too funny she's already independent. We can handle her little bouts of fussiness during the day because this little girl has figured out that sleeping is important. At 5 weeks she jumped from 3 hours at a time to 6. And for the past week she has been sleeping consistently 7-8 hours at a time. We LOVE that about her.

I caught this on tape today... neither of them knew I was recording. I like to call this the "dino dance".

And here's a little bit of Ashton! Don't let him fool you. He's not that good in nursery. He's having serious separation anxiety. Someone please make it stop!
