Happy Easter!

Ashton and Hannah are both asleep right now. And this is what Mallie has done to their easter baskets. I love it. The kids woke up to a basket full of goodies this morning. Can you guess which one belongs to the baby? Maybe that's why Mallie pillaged while the older ones were asleep.

We put on shoes with their jammies and sent them outside this morning. Hannah refused to take her sunglasses off. Here she is looking like a total diva on her egg hunt.

Ashton wouldn't stop long enough for me to get a picture. His egg hunting process went like this pick up - shake- throw in the basket or back down on the grass. If he couldn't hear a distinct rattling he wouldn't even put it in his basket.

And because this year we have 11 o'clock church our easter morning picture did not make us late.

It was a great Easter Sunday at church with great talks and lessons about our Savior. Ashton even sang with the primary in Sacrament meeting for the first time. He knew almost every word to "I Am a Child of God". I love that he already knows who he is at this age. Happy Easter!

Because we're Texans...

we take bluebonnet pictures. Maybe I'm not a Texan but I've got three of them! Some of you may remember last year's post about the bluebonnets. My kids glared at the photographer the entire time. Exhibit A. Yesterday we decided to take a different approach. A few of us were left husbandless thanks to Baylor so we met at a field and let the kids run wild and tried to stop them occasionally for a picture. The results were 100 times better than last year.

Hannah loves the word hug.

Babies do not come much easier than this one right here. I have about 10 shots of her smiling and sitting still eventhough that headband had to be cutting off some serious circulation.

Hannah was all about the run - stop - smile routine we had going on.

This guy is growing up. And way TOO fast.

Ashton and Hannah were having way too much fun frolicking in the fields to want to sit down together for this picture.

But hey - I'd say it was a successful Bluebonnet day after all was said and done.

David is finishing up the last portion of his WREB licensing exam right now. Did I mention what a champion I married? Because I really did... and in May I'll gratefully accept the return of my husband from Baylor dental school.

Done... well all most.

I tried to wait to post a pic of the finished headboard... here's why. I'm using the children to try and hide out 5 year old bedspread that desperately needs to be replaced. I decided on Saturday that no matter what we were going to have that headboard painted and in our room before David went to the priesthood session of General Conference. So I had two samples of paint one light gray and one light blue and we didn't like either. And I didn't have time in between sessions to go back to the store so we mixed them together and this is what we got. It's pretty blue but I'm sure it'll look a LOT better when we throw a white and gray bed spread on it. And if it doesn't we'll paint it again. And because you can see it in the picture I feel like I should explain David's blue nightstand. I got carried away with the extra paint and I hated the natural wood color it was before and now that side of our room looks like some awesome home right out of the 60s. It'll get spray painted white this weekend... not to worry. Hopefully the next picture will not need children to try and distract from everything else. So there it is. It was easy. I mean, really easy. It's not perfect but every night we lay down and talk about how cool we are b/c we made it ourselves and a store bought headboard couldn't do that for us.
