Preschool at our house!
Last week it was my turn to teach preschool. There are 5 kids and they are great! We've been keeping a preschool blog to post pictures and keep the Moms informed on what we did that day. So I'm reusing some of the pictures to show you the basement I am going to miss like crazy.
The wetbar area. Complete with a sink and a 2nd fridge/freezer. I don't know if I'll ever be able to live without a 2nd fridge to hold the 4 gallons of milk we go through a week.

Milestones
Every night David and I fill up these cups/bottles. And in them goes some chocolate, a little chocolate and no chocolate. Amazing that Hannah took a few sips of Ashton's cup and never looked back. They get their two cups every morning and we don't have to worry about milk for the rest of the day. Plus it helps that they get to sit and drink watching Mickey Mouse while I catch up on an extra half hour of sleep. You remember this post don't you? Still in mostly full swing in at this house.
Mallie is our only baby to get a bottle past 12 months... we're getting more and more content with letting our kids do their thing as long as we all stay happy and don't feel like they're too spoiled. We've been putting her down with a bottle full of water at night and naps because she is our only non-binky baby and we felt bad she had no "soother". Then in the morning we've discovered if we fill her little belly with some milk in her bed she sucks herself right back to sleep for another hour. I'm convinced I'm rotting her teeth AND I'm tired of washing bottles so we're breaking her this week.
Tonight she laid down and fell asleep with out a fight. How many times will it take me to remember that what I sometimes think are their needs are actually my own security blankets? Turns out she didn't care much for the bottle. I guess the other (and more important) milestone should be posted that she learned to walk as soon as we moved here. She's basically running right now. And this morning she climbed up the stairs with the keyboard that is taller (and maybe heavier) than she is.

These 3 little people sleep from 7:15-7:15 every single night. They are awesome. They rarely fight bed time and rarely wake up before 7. Today they graced my bedroom door at 6:55am and I was shocked and all out of sorts. So I set them on the couch and took a picture. Kind of a monumental day anyway since this was Mallie's first morning out of the crib on her first cry instead of being coaxed back to sleep with some milk right away. Here she is joining the older 2 with her sippy cup without chocolate for now (thank goodness).
And yes I am terrified that the kids at any given moment are going to crawl over the back of the couch and fall right down the stairs. Bad living room set up all around. I'll show pictures of the basement soon so you understand why the living room doesn't bother us too much. That being said we are going to move on base before the end of the year. Poor David has moved every year we've been married. But we both agree it's closer to everything and will save us a couple hundred dollars a month on utilites. It's worth it for the pain of a move once more isn't it?

Just random thoughts sans pictures
I've tried to upload pictures to blogger 3 different times now and can't get it to work. So I'll have to just use words. We had a great Labor Day weekend with Jeffrey and Debbie. They were the best house guests ever and the kids all played really well. We never thought of living in the Missouri as being close to family... but now having Jeffrey and Debbie within a day's drive and Ben and Emily just 10 minutes away has made us appreciate where we're at so much more.
We started a co-op preschool with 5 gals in the ward. Preschool for two hours twice a week has been a big hit with Ashton. It helped that I started out in a new place with 4 built in friends too. So that's been really great. There is something so awesome about a military ward. It's this common bond of everyone in the same boat and mutual respect for eachother's service. I really love it.
Last but not least I've got to say how impressed I am with the blogging community as a whole. I love to read the comments on the Hale's blog from around the country. People just dropping a note just to say we're praying for you. I know it means the world to Mercedi and is a true testimony to me that we're not to busy to care about strangers who are going through hard times. I've been thinking about that a lot lately... am I spending enough time/energy to helping others? Or just giving an extra moment of my time to lift another?
I'm sure next post will be a random assortment of pictures. Until then...
