Labor Day

Somewhere along the way David came up with the tradition of a Labor Day fort. The kids almost never remember but every Labor Day they are thrilled with what their Dad comes up with. This was their biggest and best fort yet and the top 4 slept in it one night.
I will take credit for the rope holding up the middle this year. Everything else was all him.
Notice the movie screen glow on them...
And I made a sign for them that they loved AND enforced when I tried to get in there.
On Monday we headed to the lake.
In the military area of Canyon Lake they dumped tons of fresh sand and its the perfect depth for swimming.
Ashton said even with the goggles on he could barely see in the water. Aw well, water is water to the kids.
Scotty has the happiest time of his life at the lake. He picks up rocks and drops them in for hours non stop. He loves the splash and as long as he doesn't get too close to other people (ie throwing rocks at them) he is the easiest kid at the lake. He doesn't even take a break for lunch.
There's Lulu, David eating doritos in the background and Rach napping like a champ in a carseat everywhere we go.
I texted this picture to our Bishop the other day with the caption "You've been replaced." Our new church building just 8 minutes from our house is finally done and we LOVE it. David and I had to go over and set up the new printer in the clerk's office and we set Scotty up in the Bishop's office with the kindle.
And Rach is still so easy she doesn't get into the big kids' stuff too much. But you better believe anytime anyone is practicing the piano she climbs right up to play with them and then they use that as an excuse to stop practicing. But she sure is cute.
And that's a wrap for Labor Day!
