On Hannah's birthday I went to eat lunch with her at school and then because it was so late in the day we figured I had better just take that sweet girl to run errands with me instead of finishing the day. So that's what we did. Hannah LOVES homemade pizza and doesn't love cake so she had her afternoon all planned out. We made pizza first...
Then we set up our own Orange Leaf with tons of toppings. It's a little tricky to do candles without a cake and gather all the kids to sing before the candles melt that ice cream with wax. We promptly tossed that bowl when the song was over and she started fresh.
This girl LOVES birthdays and she was so happy about her ice cream set up.
My parents bought us this picnic table when they came into town and we use it all the time. This has nothing to do with Hannah's birthday but I thought I should mention it since it's the little things like this that make me wonder why hadn't we done this before??
Present time.I hope our kids always remember their birthdays with siblings looking over their shoulders as they unwrap gifts. Their is mix of jealous excitement and they all prefer opening presents with an audience.
Hannah is our most compassionate child and the first to express gratitude. She loves being the big sister and is still pretty gifted in the drawing department. She spends at least an hour everyday upstairs drawing. She loves to make up stories and write and is at her desk for most of her free time. We love this hugely extroverted little gal. She is the first to include someone who is new or shy and has a gift for breaking the ice in a new situation. Happy Birthday Hannah Lei!
