Just random thoughts sans pictures

I've tried to upload pictures to blogger 3 different times now and can't get it to work. So I'll have to just use words. We had a great Labor Day weekend with Jeffrey and Debbie. They were the best house guests ever and the kids all played really well. We never thought of living in the Missouri as being close to family... but now having Jeffrey and Debbie within a day's drive and Ben and Emily just 10 minutes away has made us appreciate where we're at so much more.
We started a co-op preschool with 5 gals in the ward. Preschool for two hours twice a week has been a big hit with Ashton. It helped that I started out in a new place with 4 built in friends too. So that's been really great. There is something so awesome about a military ward. It's this common bond of everyone in the same boat and mutual respect for eachother's service. I really love it.
Last but not least I've got to say how impressed I am with the blogging community as a whole. I love to read the comments on the Hale's blog from around the country. People just dropping a note just to say we're praying for you. I know it means the world to Mercedi and is a true testimony to me that we're not to busy to care about strangers who are going through hard times. I've been thinking about that a lot lately... am I spending enough time/energy to helping others? Or just giving an extra moment of my time to lift another?
I'm sure next post will be a random assortment of pictures. Until then...

Um...well I'd say from seeing or talking to you almost everyday for the last month that YES, you spend most, if not all of your time helping other people.
Honestly, at dinner last night I was just telling Ben how impressed I am with you and your sincerity in helping people around you!
I am so glad you are here!!
