Now that the background is out of the way. What I really wanted to write about was her baby blessing. After we took our annual Christmas pictures at the church my Dad asked the oldest nephews and niece if they would watch the other 30 grand kids in the gym. Literally each 12 year old took a door and quarantined all the other kids so the adults could go into the Relief Society room without interruption. What followed was the most tender baby blessing I've ever heard and incredible testimonies given by Nate and Cally. They are rocks in the Gospel. As they shared their knowledge of the plan and their understanding of the Lord's will we all bawled. They have no idea what the future has in store for little Evey but there never was any pause in their faith. My Mom shared that as we were all crying for Cally and Nate the first few weeks of Evey's life because of the unknown she soon realized others were crying on the other side of the veil because they were already missing one of their choicest spirits. It's true and as Cally once put it we all get to mooch off Evey's goodness. I'm so grateful we all got to be there for her blessing and even more glad I got to see first hand how amazing my sister and her husband are. Please keep Evey and her parents in your prayers as she faces more tests and surgeries. Thank goodness for the knowledge of the Plan of Happiness so we can truly appreciate this little girl's mission.
