Ashton celebrated his 5th birthday ninja style. Pinterest has ruined the all American birthday party. It's all about the decorations these days instead of good old fashioned fun. So I made one decoration and then asked the Moms to drop their boys off. I didn't want it to be about the parents at all. I wanted a strictly kids friendly party. Bad lighting... but you can see my one decoration!
Ashton felt pretty cool.
David helping to serve up lunch.
Dragon pinata that broke in 4 hits.
Luckily candy falls out or the other boys might have been a little sad they didn't get a swing.
Lining up for the obstacle course.
Through the laser net. This was a huge hit.
Candles.
This face with the nun chucks pretty much sums up the day.
With 7 little boys running around with foam nun chucks, inflatable swords and paper throwing stars they were in heaven. I let them just run and play for the better part of an hour and they didn't get bored at all. David played the bad ninja and let them attack him over and over. I know Ashton is in a unique situation where he has so many little boy friends his exact same age at church. It was a perfect year to go all in on a birthday party. Maybe we'll try it again in another 5 years!

I'm glad someone else feels the same way about kids birthday parties. It looks like it was a fun party! Ashton is a lucky kid to have such good parents!
To quote Parker, "It was the best party ever!" He had a blast!
