David's Sunday Dinner

David's obsession with stir fry started a year and a half ago, the night I took out the stir fry in a freezer bag we bought at target with a $2 off cupon. When I showed him how you just dump it in a frying pan and basically thaw and sear it he decided he would take over. He did a great job with the ready made stir fry and even added some of his own seasoning. During dinner that night he kept saying how amazing his dinner was. I then mocked him and said he didn't have to even pick up a knife and that surely he did not actually cook this dinner. He got a stubborn look on his face and said "I'll show you. I'm going to make a stir fry all on my own and do all my own chopping!" I started to laugh and said have it. 2 weeks later he began to experiment. And over the last year or so his stir fry has evolved into this. Take a look.

You must use ALL of these ingredients or it will not turn out just right. Asking him how much of what would be an insult - he does it all by taste.

And David does ALL of his own chopping. He won't even use the cooking scissors for the meat because chopping, "makes him feel like a chef".

He fills up the wok completely! But it will feed us for 4-5 days.
I think he has a right to be proud of his famous stir fry. I mean that is a beauty.
And yes, I do regret a little the comment I made. Because my $6 Tyson bag with the cupon has now turned into a $35-40 affair.

First off...I too purchased the tyson stir-fry in a bag and thought it was pretty good myself. But, what your husband has done could put tyson manufacturing out of company. That stir-fry looks pretty freakin good! lol When I saw all the ingregients I started laughing and thinking if that was Brandon half the seasoning would end up on the kitchen floor and then stick to my feet everytime I walk through the kitchen.

That's awesome! I love cooking with fresh ingredients! Of course, there are some times freezer food is just so much easier when we don't have much time, I don't feel like cooking, or we're broke and we can't go to the store. When I cook some favorite foods, I'll make a TON of it and then divide it into ziplock freezer bags for future meals. You could definitely do that with this stir fry.
Oh, and if we EVER become neighbors or get to visit you, I expect David to cook this meal for us.

HUSBANDS ARE SO FUNNY. IF I LET CLINT HE WOULD EAT STIR FRY EVERY NIGHT OF THE WEEK. HE ALSO HAS TO MAKE HIS OWN. IF I BUY THE FROZEN BAGS "IT JUST DOSENT TASTE RIGHT." THE FROZEN DINNER BAGGED DINNER CLEAN UP IS ALL OF ABOUT TWO SECONDS BAG GOES IN TRASH PAN GETS RINSED OUT AND PLATES GO IN THE TRASH(PAPER IS THE WAY TO GO!!) WHEN THE MEN COOK YOU END UP FINDING SEASONINGS FOR DAYS!!! BUT I DO GIVE DAVID A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THE SKILLS HE HOLDS BECAUSE THAT STIR FRY LOOKS OH SO YUMMY!!!!
